One!

Sunday was Justin's first birthday!!
We had special but simple celebrations as we enjoyed this special milestone with him.
Saturday, my family came over for dinner.

Sunday, we enjoyed another simple but special time with Justin's cousins, aunts and uncles on Martin's side - but I forgot to take a camera... so no pictures of that one :)

Winter Camp

Martin took a Friday and Saturday a few weeks ago to go winter camping with a few friends. Winter camping is one of those things you either think is a fun and exciting experience, or one that you wonder why in the world you're sleeping in an igloo when you have a comfortable bed only about an hour's drive away...

Of course, Martin is on the side that says this type of adventure is fun :).
Friday was spent hauling the stuff up and then building the igloos, eating supper, sitting around the fire, and then going to bed - though that didn't necessarily mean sleep for some :(.

Saturday was an absolutely beautiful, clear day - perfect for snowshoeing up Zoa. I hear it was a lot of work getting up (3 hours of climbing) which was rewarded by gorgeous views and then a fun 1-hour trip down.
